Huvepharma is a privately owned company, headquartered in Sofia, Bulgaria. Role Purpose:
The GL Accountant supports the Finance Controller and is responsible for accurate recording of transactions, reconciliations, and support of the close process in Huvepharma EOOD.
Core Responsibilities:
1. General Ledger Accounting
Prepare, review, and post journal entries to maintain the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.
Monitor and analyze GL accounts to ensure timely identification and resolution of issues.
Support the Finance Controller, Tax Expert, and Statutory Compliance Manager during monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring all required adjustments and reconciliations are completed.
Assist in implementing process improvements for enhanced efficiency and accuracy in GL operations.
2. Reconciliations
Perform thorough reconciliations for bank accounts, intercompany balances, payroll, VAT, tax accounts, accruals, and provisions.
Work closely with the Finance Controller, Tax Expert, and Statutory Compliance Manager to ensure all accounts are fully reconciled and discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
Document findings and reconciliation outcomes to support audit and compliance requirements.
3. Documentation & Controls
Maintain comprehensive supporting documentation in SharePoint, ensuring records are organized and accessible for internal and external audits.
Adhere strictly to accounting manuals, statutory guidelines, and internal procedures, collaborating with the Statutory Compliance Manager to guarantee compliance.
Support audit processes by providing accurate and timely documentation to both internal and external auditors.
4. Support Activities
Assist the Finance Controller in reporting, audit preparation, and process improvement initiatives.
Provide ongoing support to the Tax Expert in tax account reconciliations, VAT reporting, and regulatory filings.
Collaborate with the Statutory Compliance Manager to ensure all statutory filings and financial statements reflect reconciled and accurate accounts.
Foster cross-functional cooperation to address complex accounting and compliance issues, promoting a culture of accuracy and transparency.

Qualifications & Profile:
Degree in Accounting or Finance.
2–5+ years GL accounting experience.
Solid understanding of Bulgarian accounting requirements and statutory compliance obligations.
Strong attention to detail and structured working style.
Ability to effectively support multiple stakeholders, including Finance Controller, Tax Expert, and Statutory Compliance Manager.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to ensure all accounts and records are fully reconciled and compliant.
